I don't want to jinx it but this baby seems to be much more chill and easy going. Or perhaps I'm just forgetting things already. She is kicking a lot but it seems to always be down whereas Ellie would kick me up into my ribcage. It makes me nervous that she seems to like this position because I do not want her to be presenting breech when she is full term. There is still plenty of time for her to move around but this does seem to be one of her favorite positions. If she does decide to stay put, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that we learned at our natural childbirth class. No panicking allowed just yet. I started to feel her kick around 16 weeks and Tom was able to feel her around 23 weeks. I don't know if it's because she mostly kicks down into my uterus and he can't feel those but I remember him being able to feel Ellie much sooner. I can already tell she's going to have a different personality than her sister.
She is starting to get big or maybe I'm just starting to feel really big. My pregnancy app tells me that she is about 13.5 inches in length and weighs about a pound and a half. She definitely feels bigger than that! I am probably just feeling the weight of being pregnant and chasing/picking up/moving a toddler all day long. It's been a much different pregnancy than the first time around that's for sure. Ironically enough, I've had less aches and pains. I wonder if that's because I'm not sitting behind a desk all day (most likely not very ergonomically). I am on my feet a lot, which I do feel at the end of the day, but I don't have nearly as much back pain. I remember that's why I started to go to prenatal yoga with Ellie. I haven't made it to one yoga class this time around but I don't feel like I need it either.
We have finally decided on a name but I swore under penalty of death and divorce that I wouldn't divulge it to anyone until she arrives. We did this with Ellie and we were glad we did. I don't think anyone objected to her name but it definitely keeps people's opinions to themselves. It's so hard for us to find names that we both like AND that go well with our last name so we don't want to be talked out it.
At the end of the month I have another OB appointment and the Glucose Challenge Test where they check to see if your liver is processing insulin as it should. It's a super annoying test because they make you drink this nasty cough syrup sugar drink and then draw blood several times over 2 hours. I wouldn't mind it so much if it didn't take so long. Hopefully all goes well. So far she seems to be baking right along. If this pregnancy is any indication, she'll be a super easy girl. I know I am blessed with easy pregnancies, but let's hope she turns out to be a mellow baby. I'm going to need all the help I can get keeping up with two kiddos!
P.S.- She just started kicking up. :)
