Meet Maggie!

This past weekend we finally got a chance to make our way down to Atascadero to meet the newest member of the Millenaar family - Maggie Olivia.  We decided to go down for the day since overnights with Ellie require a ton more luggage and work. It ended up being 6 hours of driving but totally worth it! Ellie did pretty good in the car, although I noticed that she is getting more squirmy in her car seat than she used to be.  I think now that she's so active she just doesn't want to sit still.  She did very good though and chattered my ear off most of the way.

We met Heather, Weston and Maggie at Atascadero Lake Park to hang out for a few hours while Heather did an impromptu photo shoot. We all had fun playing at the playground, watching the ducks and making some new friends in the sandbox, although Maggie slept the entire time.  Ellie loved squishing the sand beneath her toes!

We ate lunch at A-1 Diner which had very yummy hamburgers and sandwiches.  Ellie chose to eat my phone cover instead.

We made our way back to the Millenaar homestead and hung out with Kyle for a few hours. Maggie finally woke up and we got a chance to hold her. It was so bittersweet to hold a newborn again.  So little and light.  I've gotten used to lugging Ellie around that I've forgotten how easy newborns can be. She is so adorable and she and Ellie will have so much fun together when they are older.

We lost track of time and our visit came to an end too quickly.  Daylight savings time tricked us again and we had to head home before Ellie turned into a pumpkin. Luckily she slept most of the way home and we all jumped into bed pooped from the day's activities.
