Life as we know it

We are not strangers to blogging by any means (and by we, I really mean me) but so far my blogging experience has basically been the culmination and sharing of recipes on Cocina Jauregui.  I really enjoy the blogs of my friends and family in which they share the happenings of their lives.  While it does not substitute a face-to-face conversation or phone call (thank you Apple for Face Time), it is a great way to catch up on their lives.  In the spirit of this communication, I have decided to start a real blog in which Tom and I will share the on-goings of our own life.  I can't promise that this blog will be highly entertaining or witty, but it will be real. 

We liked the title "The Simple Life" because it is something that we are always striving for.  This is not to say that things are always easy or straightforward, but that we are driven towards the simple pleasure in life: the smell of coffee in the morning, a hard day's work, whistling in the car, long walks, a glass of wine, pajama time, friends and family, good food from fresh ingredients, making things from scratch and things of this sort.  So here you have it - this is our simple life and the things that we hold dear.
